Acceptable use policy

Status — drafted, pending legal review · last updated

This is a draft published for review. It is not a binding agreement, and the operator's counsel has not approved it.

This document is not yet in force because Bookesto has no customers and no deployed service. What is stated below is our intended position, published early so that it can be read before there is anything to agree to. It will be replaced by a reviewed and dated document before the first account is created.

Intended position

Each line is what we intend the reviewed document to say. None of it is in force.

Unsolicited messaging
Prohibited. Bookesto messaging channels are for people who consented, and consent is recorded with its source
Purchased or scraped contact lists
Prohibited on every channel
WhatsApp
Meta's own commerce and business messaging policies apply in full and are stricter than ours
Impersonation
Prohibited. A booking page must represent the business that operates it
Regulated categories
Some categories cannot be supported on WhatsApp under Meta's policies regardless of your local law
Enforcement
We will suspend a channel rather than let a violation get every merchant's numbers reviewed

Why this one is strict

We hold ourselves to the same rule. We do not send cold outreach, we do not buy contact lists, and we do not scrape business directories for leads.
